Customize How Your Widget Looks and Where It Appears on the Page
In Step 2: Design, you can customize the appearance and position of your Comment Widget.
1. Choose Light or Dark Mode
Toggle Override Theme to manually select between Light Mode or Dark Mode.
If you prefer your widget to follow your site’s default theme, leave this off.
2. Choose Widget Placement on the Page
Under Choose a position to show your campaign, select where you want the widget to appear:
- Middle Left
- Bottom Left (default)
- Middle Right
- Bottom Right
Click the toggle next to your preferred position. The live preview on the left will update automatically.

💡 Tip: Use the Desktop/Mobile switch at the top to preview how the widget will look on different devices.
Once you’re happy with the design and placement, click Next Step to continue.
Edit the Text in Your Comment Widget
In Step 2: Design, you can customize the text that appears inside your Comment Widget to match your brand’s voice and tone.
1. Click on the Edit tab at the top right of the screen (next to “Layout”).
2. You’ll see fields where you can update the title, or message that your visitors will see.
3. Simply click into any text field to make your changes. As you type, the live preview on the left will update in real time so you can see how it looks.

💡 Tip: Keep your message short and clear—something that encourages interaction, like “Have feedback? Leave us a comment!”
When you’re done editing the text, click Next Step to continue setting up your widget.
Choose Where the Userpop Widget Appears
By default, the Userpop comment widget appears on all pages of your website.
To display it on specific pages only, follow these steps:
1. Go to Edit Widget > Step 4: Targeting Settings
2. Toggle on Target Specific Sub-pages
3. Choose when the widget should appear by setting:
Your campaign should show if URL → select a match type (e.g., contains, matches, starts with, or ends with)
4. Enter the part of the URL you want to target.
- For example, entering shop with the setting contains will show the widget on any page URL that includes “shop”.

💡 Hint: Use matches to show the widget on one exact URL (e.g., cart/ will only trigger on www.yoursite.com/cart/)
